Project Summary:
Multiple studies in the past 10 years have shown pediatric residents are completing their residencies under prepared life-saving skills. Our fellowship program at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is undertaking a restructuring of our fellowship curriculum. The initial project is a one month educational curriculum entitled “Introduction to Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.” It will encompass multiple components based on adult education principles. Our objective is to better prepare these physicians to care for critically ill children prior to the start of their clinical rotations.
