WISER : Simulation Training for CCM Fellows
back
The Multidisciplinary Critical Care Training Program has developed interactive simulation courses that enhance proficiency in skills important to the practice of critical care.  These courses are conducted at the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation Education and Research (WISER), a world-class training and research facility located on the University of Pittsburgh campus. Its mission is to conduct educational research and training programs utilizing simulation based education to provide a safer environment for patients of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and its affiliates.  Guided by Department of Critical Care faculty, CCM fellows gain experience in crisis management, routine and difficult airway management, central venous cannulation, and fiberoptic bronchoscopy. For a brief description of these courses, please play the video to the right.
