Current Research Interest:

  • use of mathematical modeling to further understanding of physiological processes and their influence on progression and outcome of disease, current focus: shock
  • use of mathematical modeling and advanced data analysis techniques to help maximize the clinical value of the information obtained from non-invasive and invasive monitoring and diagnostic procedures in a critical care setting
  • development of methods to combine deterministic models of physiological processes with stochastic data and models to better understand and eventually optimize diagnostic algorithms and underlying mechanisms
