back

Patrick M. Kochanek, MD, from the University of Pittsburgh, W. Dalton Dietrich, PhD, and M. Ross Bullock, MD, PhD, both from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, are Guest Editors of a special issue of the Journal of Neurotrauma entitled "Therapeutic Hypothermia Is Promising Strategy to Minimize Tissue Damage After Brain and Spinal Cord Injury."  The series of original articles selected by the Guest Editors for this issue are a result of presentations at the 2nd International Brain Hypothermia Symposium. Dr. Kochanek and associates at the Safar Center are contributors of two articles on therapeutic hypothermia in pediatric populations, one describing the Safar Vision, and the other focusing on applications in pediatric cardiac arrest. This issue is dedicated to Hubert L. Rosomoff, MD, DMedSC, a renowned neurological surgeon and researcher who worked on hypothermia problems with Peter Safar, MD, while on the Pitt faculty.
