Dr. Sachin Yende Receives Large NIH Grant

back

Dr. Yende received a K23 Award from the NIH to develop a risk prediction model to predict risk of community-acquired pneumonia. Dr. Yende was awarded 5 years funding totaling $596,000 for his research project "Predicting Risk of Pneumonia in the General Population." Under the mentorship of Dr. Derek Angus and several other investigators in the departments of Human Genetics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, he will test the hypothesis that risk prediction models incorporating circulating biomarkers and genetic markers will outperform models based on simple clinical data. Congratulations to Sachin Yende for this honor.
