On November 1st, Paul Rogers, MD, Professor of Critical Care Medicine, received the 2008 Alpha Omega Alpha Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award in San Antonio during the annual meeting of the American Association of Medical Colleges. Dr. Rogers' critical care medicine class for senior medical students has the highest enrollment of any elective course at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School and he has won many accolades from both students and peers for his accomplishments. As Director of the Multidisciplinary Critical Care Training Program in the Adult Section of our CCM Department, Dr. Rogers has revamped the program for the anesthesiology, internal medicine and surgery critical care fellows to include problem solving workshops and on-line self-assessment. Dr. Rogers is a founding member of our School of Medicine's Academy of Master Educators. He is Vice President of the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System and Director of the SICU at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Congratulations to Dr. Rogers for his ever continuing excellence in teaching.
