Dr. Joseph Carcillo and Dr. Robert Clark were prominent professors at the 9th Latin American Congress on Pediatric Intensive Care held in Vina del Mar, Chile, earlier this month. Dr. Carcillo spoke on management of shock, guidelines for resuscitation, and goal directed therapies. Dr. Clark spoke on neuroprotection, and management of patients with traumatic brain injury and after cardiac arrest. Groundwork was also laid for continued, multi-national collaborative clinical studies between Children's Hospital of UPMC investigators and Pediatric CCM leaders in Latin America.
