Adult Critical Care Medicine NRSA Training Grant Renewed for Another 5 Years
back

The CCM Department’s Adult Critical Care Medicine Training Program (T32-11-HL007820) entitled “Experimental Therapeutics in Critical Illness” just received renewed funding for an additional five years. Dr. Michael R. Pinsky, Program Director, said “this funding marks the years 11 through 15 of continuous funding for the Adult Critical Care Medicine Research Training Program. We are especially pleased for the funding coming at full support of 4 research trainees per year over the life of the grant, since current NIH funding reflects more budget cutbacks and realignment. Our training program is the only federally-funded adult NRSA program that is multidisciplinary critical care medicine. All other funded programs exist within divisions of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Cardiology, Trauma or Surgery. We also have these affiliations but under the broad umbrella of Critical Care Medicine. Thus, we can offer trainees extremely wide options of training experiences, formal coursework and direct mentorship unavailable elsewhere.” Interested parties considering a career in academic critical care medicine are encouraged to visit the NRSA training program’s webpage for additional information about the program and the application process.
