Kai Singbartl, MD, received a K08 Award from the NIH to study the immunomodulatory effects of Acute Renal Failure in sepsis. Dr. Singbartl was awarded 5 years funding totaling more than $600,000 for his research project 'Bacterial Pneumonia and Neutrophil Recruitment During Acute Renal Failure.' Under the mentorship of Dr. John Kellum, this grant aims to unravel the anti-inflammatory effects of ARF by using a translational approach that includes both animal models and studies in patients.
