Dr. Michael Bell was a Pediatric CCM Fellow in our Program 1994 - 1997. He performed excellent research on traumatic brain injury at SCRR and has continued in this field at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC where he was promoted in 2003 to Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Pediatrics and Critical Care Medicine. Since 2005, he has been Director of Neuro Critical Care. Dr. Bell has an impressive CV with approximately 100 scientific publications. He has received several research grants and currently holds a K08 grant from NIH through 2008. He was appointed to our Pediatric CCM Division as an Associate Professor of CCM and Pediatrics effective August 1, 2007. He will spend approximately 3/4 of his time in research and the remainder in clinical work, having been asked to develop a Neuro ICU at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. We welcome Dr. Bell back to our CCM Department, anticipating a strong and rapid growth of Neuro Critical Care at CHP.
