Ake Grenvik, MD, PhD, has resigned from his role at WISER as of July 1 of this year. On June 12, he was celebrated at WISER for his involvement in initiating our simulation center and running it for over a decade. Dr. Paul Phrampus, Director of WISER, gave an overview of Dr. Grenvik's contributions to the success of WISER and presented him with a beautiful crystal plaque, indicating Dr. Grenvik's leadership and vision. As a special token of appreciation for his dedication to WISER, Dr. Phrampus introduced an annual Ake Grenvik WISER Award, prsenting the 2007 award to Michael DeVita, MD, for his excellent representation of WISER, locally and internationally, through his leading role in team training, prominence in the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, and initiating the annual Congress on Rapid Response Systems in hospitals worldwide.
