Dr. Pinsky Lectures in Muscat, Oman

Michael R. Pinsky, MD was one of six international invited speakers to present at the 3rd Oman International Conference on Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine that was held in Muscat, Oman on March 1, 2007. This conference was lead by Dr. Maher J. Albahrani and endorsed by the Arabian Intensive Care Society. This Pan-Arab conference is held every three years and participants included physicians and nurses for all the Middle Eastern countries as well as some physicians from the horn of Africa. Dr. Pinsky's lectures were entitled "Hemodynamic monitoring in septic shock: assessment of volume status," and "Heart-lung interactions during mechanical ventilation." The crystal prize given to Dr. Pinsky is a depiction of the traditional dagger carried around the waist and adorned with silver which has been used in this region of over 1000 years.
