Pitt CCM Faculty Give Outstanding Lectures at CRRT 2007

The 12th Annual International Conference on Continuous Renal Replacement Therapies took place March 7 - 10, 2007, in San Diego, CA. This conference is endorsed by the International Society of Nephrology and the Acute Kidney Injury Network. Invited speakers included Drs. John Kellum and Michael Pinsky of our CCM Department.

Dr. Kellum presented five lectures: Extracorporeal Techniques for Sepsis; Acid Base and Electrolyte Problems in the Critically ill; Acid-Base Physiology in Critically Ill Patients: Traditional vs Modern Approaches; Case Studies on Common Problems and Strategies for Management Including Use of Dialytic Therapies Including CRRT; and a special lecture on Looking into the Future: Applying Systems Biology to Extracorporeal Support.

Dr. Pinsky gave the following four presentations: Fluid Management; Renal Effects of Critical Illness; Targeted Resuscitation: Strategies for Success; and Case Based Discussion of Application of Techniques for Fluid Regulation in CRRT.
