Dr. Abraham received his medical degree from Stanford
University in 1978. He completed his internal medicine residency
and critical care fellowship at UCLA. Dr. Abraham received his postdoctoral
training in the Laboratory of Immunobiology at Pasteur Institute
in Paris, France.
Currently, Dr. Abraham is a Roger Sherman Mitchell
Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University
of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is the head of the Division
of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Abraham is
also Vice Chair of Administrative Affairs of the Department of Medicine,
University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
His ongoing research projects deal with the treatment
of adult respiratory distress syndrome, neutrophil activation in
acute lung injury, and heterogenous neutrophil responses in acute
lung injury. Dr. Abraham has completed research projects on topics
of cytokines and post-hemorrhage pulmonary immunodepression and
adaptations to hypoxia. |
