On February 21, 2005, Dr. Adam Akers joined
our CCM faculty as a visiting assistant professor. He graduated
from the University of Pittsburgh Department of Medicine in 1996
after serving one year as Chief Medical Resident. Following nearly
9 years of group private practice, he decided to return to academic
medicine and was hired to take on the Department of CCM responsibility
(shared with the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical
Care Medicine) for the 28-bed SemperCare acute care facility
at MUH.
